A Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit is an extraordinary car in itself. Add the fact that Queen Elizabeth II has been a passenger - well, then it becomes something very special. This Silver Spirit with royal provenance is now on the first October listing from Bilweb Auctions.
To the October Auction #1 2022
It was in March 1996 Queen Elizabeth made a state visit to the Czech Republic. The country had existed in three years after the separation from Slovakia and president Vaclav Havel was about to host the English monarch.
A dark blue 1994 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit was brought in from Germany for the occasion, the car that now is up for bidding at Bilweb Auctions.
The Queen could with maintained dignity slide into the rear seat, clad in soft light grey leather with elegantly contrasting blue piping. She was probably well acquainted with the barely audible humming from the 6.75 litre V8, making it easy to have a conversation with president Havel without raising her voice.
After the state visit, the Silver Spirit was sent back to Germany and in 2000 it was imported to Sweden by a Rolls-Royce enthusiast. He kept it for 13 years whereupon the present owner took over, also he with a big heart for classic Rolls-Royces.
The car is in an exquisite condition, which is confirmed by winning the Best in Class title at the 2018 Rolls-Royce Enthusiast´s Club Rally and Concours in England, the world’s biggest event for classic Rolls-Royce.
The Silver Spirit model was launched in 1980 as a successor to the Silver Shadow. It was in production until 1997 with three major updates during its lifespan.
The Silver Spirit in the auction is a Mark III and has covered only 79 000 kilometers.
The bidding closes on 13 October and the value of this royal Rolls-Royce is estimated by Bilweb Auctions to between 350 000 and 450 000 SEK.
