Classic quartet from Fiat on Bilweb Auctions

Forza Italia! Forza Fiat! Four classics from the pride of Turin spices up the fist listing in June from Bilweb Auctions.

The most unusual model in the quartet is a 600 Multipla from 1957. It was sold in Vasteras, Sweden, that year and most probably caught quite some attention in the little city - the design is to say the least advanced. At a quick glance, it can be difficult for the uninitiated to differentiate the front from the back.

The car in the auction was subject to a full restoration a number of years ago: body, paint, interior and mechanics - and it is still in a very good condition. The Fiat Multipla can be seen as a 1950s compact forerunner to the modern MPV.

The driver is seated directly over the front axle and the little water-cooled 600 cc engine is mounted as far back as possible, maximizing the space. This made the Multipla a very popular text cab in Italy in the Sixties.

The auction is valued at between 250 000 and 300 000 SEK.

Two minuscule siblings to the Multipla, both from the mythic year of 1968, is also in the auction.

A Nuova 500, restored to original condition back home in Italy and imported to Sweden in 2018, is ready for the summer roads and to charm everybody around it. The value is estimated to between 80 000 and 90 000 SEK - and a periodical license plate from Rome is included!

Its - engine wise - bigger brother, a 600, is however in need of a major overhaul and must be seen as a complete and promising restoration object. It has been garaged since 1989 and is now valued at 35 - 45 000 SEK.

A 125 Sport Spider from 1974 is an alternative for the Fiat enthusiast that want a bigger, sportier, car - and a convertible. The auction car was originally sold in the USA, where the model arrived in the late 1960s and quickly became a big seller. It is also over there good examples can be found, especially in the dry and sunny ”Sunshine states”.

The 1.6 litre DOHC four delivers 118 hors power and the current owner has spent a lot of time and money in order to get the car in a mechanical top condition. The Fiat 124 Sport Spider can be seen as a classic affordable sports car, a concept that Mazda picked up a couple of decades later and created the mega success Miata.

Bilweb Auctions has estimated the value to between 60 000 and 80 000 SEK.
