1993 was the last model year for the Volvo 240, the final car produced in May that year. The last 240 cars became part of a numbered series and got a special plaque on the dashboard. The car´s number, in falling order, were printed on the plaque together with the signature of Volvo´s CEO Pehr G. Gyllenhammar.
Car number 40 was bought by a petrol head lady in Halmstad who was 73 at the time. She kept it for 28 years until she passed away at the age of 101. It was testamented to an old friend who now is selling it on Bilweb Auctions.
This very late Volvo 240 is in dark blue metallic with a blue cloth interior. It is sparsely equipped, but nevertheless has a steering wheel airbag, heated mirrors and power windows.
The clock shows 135 000 kilometers, the car is in a very tidy condition and 100 present original. The service book is complete.
It is valued at between 110 000 and 130 000 SEK.
