A topic that's currently very worrying and relevant on the enthusiast’s scene concerns a proposition for a regulation from the European Commission known as ELV, End of Life Vehicles. It's a proposal from the Commission on a regulation that could have disastrous consequences for a movement that relates to every vehicle from your 1908 Model T Ford to your drifting Nissan to your 2023 Koenigsegg. In other words, all vehicles are affected, including motorsport vehicles, and it raises a number of questions to all enthusiasts. For example, it could actually mean that you as a vehicle owner are responsible if the authorities decides that your exclusive restoration project is not of historical interest and is to be considered as waste. It could even result in a fine or penalty if the vehicle is not forfeited. And who would take the decision? The penalty imposition and the forfeiture?
In the clip, Jan Tägt does his best to explain to Bosse ”Bildoktorn" Andersson and Peter Sundfeldt what the proposal means. His mission is also to do his best to enlighten, influence, and simply hammer home the message to authorities, politicians, and bureaucrats that this is an impending danger for everyone who is in any way active within the popular movement with enthusiast vehicles, as a private individual or as a commercial actor. This concerns everyone.
