It was the Canadian CMP all-terrain vehicle that put the English Army on wheels during World War II. The vehicle thus became an important contribution to the victory of the Allies. Now one of these war heroes from 1943 is up for auction in short.
- The car has been stored indoors for 70 years and is unique in its good condition with only 15800 km on the meter! It’s historically interesting andcan easily be restored to its original army appearance. We value the car at SEK 70 000 – 120 000 kr, says Michael Luft, responsible for Bilweb Autctions.
The actual auction car - a 1943 Chevrolet CMP 30 Truck - belonged to the Canadian Army and participated as an ammunition transportation vehicle during the latter part of World War II in Europe. After the end of the war, the car was bought by the Danish army and later sold to Slagelse Fire Department on the Danish island of Sjaelland. The Fire Department painted the car red and used it as a fire-hose transportation vehicle until 1978.
