For many Swedes, a single glance at the beige Volvo estate is enough to bring back memories of Gösta Backlund’s chaotic caravan holiday across Sweden. When "Vi hade i alla fall tur med vädret" premiered in 1980, it quickly became a cultural phenomenon and one of the defining Swedish films of the decade. Throughout the 1980s, it was immensely popular, with countless Swedes recognizing themselves in its humorous portrayal of family vacations, camping life, and summer road trips.

More than four decades later, the film remains one of Sweden’s most beloved comedy classics and a lasting part of the country’s popular culture.

Now, collectors, Volvo enthusiasts, and movie buffs have a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine piece of Swedish film history.

The car in question is a 1977 Volvo 245 DL that was used during the filming of the movie. Together with the iconic caravan, the Volvo became one of the film’s most recognizable stars and has remained firmly etched in the memories of generations of viewers.

Interest in movie cars has grown significantly in recent years, both in Sweden and internationally. Provenance and cultural significance are playing an increasingly important role in the collector car market, and vehicles with documented connections to film and television often attract strong interest from buyers.
