Triplets in red Alfa Romeos from the Eighties on March Auction #1 - convertible, coupe, and sedan

An Alfa Romeo enthusiast, an Afisti, often shows an engagement close to fanatism. That is why our first auction in March should make these red hearts beat faster.

Triplets in red Alfa Romeos from the Eighties on March Auction #1 - convertible, coupe, and sedan

An Alfa Romeo enthusiast, an Afisti, often shows an engagement close to fanatism. That is why our first auction in March should make these red hearts beat faster.

No less than 3 classic Alfas on auctions ending March 10 auction, all from the same Swedish owner that started to build a collection when life, in form of a house without a garage, came in between.

Owning a classic Alfa Romeo means stepping into an inviting club scene, both in Sweden and internationally, with a rich supply of spare parts.

The convertible is a 2.0 Spider from 1986. It is a model that was around for no less than 27 years, from 1966 until 1993. It got off to a flying start with help from Hollywood when a 1600 Spider was driven by Dustin Hoffman in the classic movie ”The Graduate” in 1967.

The auction car is obviously 20 years younger, but the design language from Pininfarina has not change that much since the Sixties, apart from the distinct rear rubber spoiler that become made mark from 1980. It is a car sold new in Sweden, with 119 000 kilometers on the clock, new paint in 2016, new soft top, restored original wheels, lowered chassis and a pretty unusual hardtop.
Under the hood you’ll find the well-known 2-litre engine producing 126 horsepower, with a Weber carb replacing the original Dellorto - adding much to the sound of the engine.

Estimated value is 140 000 to 160 000 SEK.

The coupe is a 1984 2.0 GTV Alfetta with the characteristic wedge-shaped body by Giugiario. GTV stands for Gran Turismo Veloce, Alfetta means ”Little Alfa”. The model came in 1974, facelift in 1980 with the periodical plastic side panels in black.

The auction car has the smaller 4-cylinder engine, producing 131 horsepower. The GTV could also be ordered with a 2.5 litre V6, the so called ”Turbo Killer”. With only 78 000 kilometers on the clock, it must be considered a low mileage car, what’s more in a basically untouched original condition. The car comes with a Swedish history, sold new in Ystad. Just recently it was subject to a thorough but careful reconditioning, interior and exterior. All to keep the untouched feeling. Documentation is plentiful with proof of warranty, service book and rust proofing records.

Estimated value is 150 000 - 170 000 SEK

The sedan is a 164 3,0 V6 from 1989, also with Pininfarina design. Here we have a powerful family sedan, made for long distances at high speed. The 3-litre engine is one of the company’s most famous, the so called ”Busso” engine after the engineer with the same name. 184 horsepower enabled a top speed of 230 km/h and 0-100 km/h in only 7,7 seconds, impressive for a family car in the late Eighties. ”Sport limousine” was the epithet use by Alfa Romeo when marketing the car. The car has covered 120 000 kilometers and received a thorough exterior and interior recondition during in autumn 2021.

Estimated value is set to 60 000 - 70 000 SEK.
