Visually, the bus remains true to its original design. Technically, it has been carefully updated with a slight chassis lowering, new brakes, and an upgraded 1600cc engine producing 65 horsepower, making it easy to drive, stable, and well-suited to modern traffic conditions. For comparison, the original buses were equipped with a 1200cc engine producing only 30 horsepower.
The interior has been newly crafted using materials that closely mirror the original. The rear bench seat is foldable into a bed, and with the addition of a Webasto heater and pre-fitted curtains, the bus offers high comfort even for overnight camping adventures.
This is likely the most well-restored Volkswagen Bus I have ever seen. It's also especially delightful that it’s a pre-1960 model, preserving many of the beautiful early design details.
