2025 – a Record Year for Bilweb Auctions

2025 became Bilweb Auctions’ strongest year since its launch in 2017.
Its position as the Nordic region’s largest auction platform for collector vehicles was further strengthened—and remains unchallenged.

During the year, no fewer than 850 items were sold across 49 auctions. The fact that auctions have been held weekly has contributed to stable traffic to the site. The sell-through rate—i.e., auction items that are actually sold—stands at a strong 75 percent.

In total, five million visits were recorded on bilwebauctions.se, an increase of 20 percent during 2025.

“One important reason for our success is our strong digital presence, particularly online. Our video content on YouTube has been viewed 1.4 million times, with more than 17,500 hours of watch time,” says Pontus Bärnarp, CEO of Bilweb Auctions.

 International Reach
International reach is one of Bilweb Auctions’ key strengths. During the year, more than 200 items were exported to foreign buyers. This means that anyone choosing to sell their collector vehicle via Bilweb Auctions gains access to markets far beyond Sweden’s borders, increasing the chances of more bidders and higher final prices.

One example is the Saab 9-4X that sold for a full SEK 800,000—the highest price ever achieved for a Saab at auction, as far as can be determined. It received global attention and reached a media audience of more than 45 million readers.

Another example of record prices is the Volvo Sport (sometimes referred to as the P1900), which sold in November for SEK 1.5 million—an unprecedented price level.

Wednesdays Become the New Auction Day

Pontus Bärnarp also highlights two other new initiatives introduced during 2025:

The first is a partnership with Santander, enabling customers to finance their purchases.
The second is that all listings are now presented with a complimentary Carfax report, increasing security and confidence in every transaction.
Looking ahead to 2026, the main change is that auctions will be held on Wednesdays instead of Thursdays. By ending auctions midweek, there will be fewer conflicts with public holidays, long weekends, and major events or trade fairs.
