Untouched brand new Mini´s

Many collectors adore the Mini which is a classic in car history. At Bilwebauctions, three brand new cars that are 20 years old will be auctioned off.

A Swedish collector purchased three of the last car production series just over 20 years ago. The cars are 20 years old but still brand new.  One Mini has only 1640 kilometres on the clock and the other 2 have only 200 kilometres.

“It's fantastic that we have these three one-of-a-kind cars on our auction. Collectors worldwide have been stunned by the news. Many people adore the original Mini model, according to Michael Luft, the director of Bilwebauctions.”

The most remarkable thing, however, is how the owner has managed to avoid driving the cars for all these years. Driving the Mini is a lot of fun and never in million years could I resist the temptation to drive them, says Michael Luft.

The three cars that will be auctioned are a gold-painted Mini Knightsbridge, a burgundy Mini 40th Jubilee, and finally a red Mini Cooper Sports.

The Mini, or "dog kennel," as we call it, was a revolution in the automobile world. The original model was produced for more than 40 years and was a huge hit. Alec Issigonis, the designer, was the brains behind the model. His goal was for the passengers and their luggage to take 80 percent of the car's volume. As a result, a car with all four wheels in each corner was created. The small car's ability to provide so much space was - at the time, completely revolutionary - due to its transverse engine design.

Individual wheel suspension combined with a low centre of gravity, resulted in excellent road handling. The mini frequently defeated much larger and more powerful cars in rally and track races. Collectors worldwide are clamouring to own these cars.
