In 2008, it was 30 years since Saab introduced the turbo engine in a production car – the Saab 99 Turbo. To celebrate, Saab created the 9-3 Turbo X. This special edition was limited to just 2,000 units worldwide, distributed across key markets. Sweden received only 175 cars, and now one of them is heading to sale at Bilweb Auctions.
The Turbo X is powered by a potent 2.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing 280 hp. It also features all-wheel drive and is today one of the most sought-after models among Saab enthusiasts.
Just 72,900 km on the clock
The car going up for auction on Thursday, September 25, has had only two private owners since new and has covered a mere 72,900 km. It has been carefully maintained and remains in excellent condition.
Originally sold new on June 26, 2008, to its first owner in Gothenburg, the car stayed in their possession until 2016. The current owner, also from the Gothenburg area, purchased it at that time with just 54,000 km on the odometer.
Already a collector’s item
This Saab 9-3 Turbo X has always been properly serviced and inspected annually. It has never sat unused or been stored away in a garage for long periods. Most recently, it passed inspection without a single remark.
