In this red Bentley Turbo R from 1990, they have all ridden: the supercop Gunvald Larsson, the agent Carl Hamilton, and the UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld. In the form of actor Mikael Persbrandt, the owner of the car for seven years. Now, this exceptional road locomotive is up for sale at Bilweb Auctions.

Mikael Persbrandt's interest in cars has long been well-known, but that he owned a Bentley Turbo R still comes as a bit of a surprise.

The actor's preferences have mostly leaned towards sports cars, while this massive Bentley is something entirely different – even though it delivers breathtaking performance for its size.

Under the hood sits a 6.75-liter V8 from Rolls-Royce, which, with the help of turbocharging, produces 320 horsepower.

This propels the 2.4-ton vehicle from standstill to 100 km/h in just under 7 seconds and gives it a top speed of around 230 km/h. To handle this power, the Bentley Turbo R received a significantly stiffened chassis, hence the "R" in the name: it stands for Roadholding.

Mikael Persbrandt liked his Bentley so much that he bought it twice: first in October 2012 and then again in 2017, after it had spent a year at a car dealership in Västergötland. In 2020, he parted with it for the second time.

But it hasn't covered many miles, having only driven 93,000 km in its 34 years, which is reflected in its superb condition. "One of the finest in the country, perhaps in Europe," states Bilweb Auctions' inspector Mårten Carlsson.

The red paint is the original and is strikingly complemented by an interior of cream-colored leather combined with light wood inlays in African maple and red lambswool carpets. The car is fully documented since it was sold new, with a service book, instruction manual, and all keys.

Even without the actor's provenance, this Bentley is something truly special, but Persbrandt's ownership certainly adds another dimension.

The auction ends on August 29, and the car is valued at between 260,000 and 300,000 SEK.
