It's not every day that you come across one of these old 6 cylinder Alfa 2600 sprints; they sound great, drive well, and get a lot of thumbs up when you drive them.

"This is an extremely rare example of one of the most luxurious Alfa Romeo available in the 1960s. It has been well maintained for the past 14 years by an Alfa enthusiast, with a lot of work done during his ownership. It's a lot of fun to drive and has classic gran turismo styling."

Description

It is the first Giorgetto Giugiaro design as a head designer at Bertone for Alfa, less than 7000 produced (6999 exactly), it is the predecessor of the smaller well known GT bertone coupe? with very similar design but more Gran Turismo, it was the top of the range for Alfa Romeo at that time, the last Alfa 6 cyl in line derived from the famous 4 cyl generation, double overhead cam, 5 speed gearbox, electrical windows etc.....very beautiful and luxurious car.

What's also great about my car is that it looks completely original; it's not in pebble beach condition, but it's in perfect driving and running condition.
There are no problems with the engine, brakes, or clutch; the engine is very stable and smooth; and the compression has been checked and found to be ok.

I have bought the car in 2006 in Partille (close to Go?teborg) .
it was not in so good shape but with no rust, and in running condition. The non rust factor is why I bought it. I don’t know what the previous owner did on the car in detail, but I am pretty sure that the body was restored and well done. The car was registered at that time in UK. I wrote to Alfa Romeo storico, they confirmed that both engine and chassis number were matching , and the car was 1st sold in Switzerland , Geneva.

  • Interior condition:

Seats in original brown leather nice and clean, driver seat is slightly worn with a rip by the side handle, clean headliner, leather dash with wooden trim that is nice and complete, decker radio installed, 3 spoke alloy steering wheel, new carpets, and original rubber mat in the boot.

  • Exterior condition:

Repainted several years ago, with a soft dent on the passenger door, small blisters in the paint on the rear wings, good chrome bumpers and wheel trims with newer tires, and a pitted chrome door handle on the passenger side.

  • General condition:

It's a cool looking and rare 6 cylinder Alfa that sounds great and is fun to drive; you don't see these for sale very often, so now is a great time to get something special for the summer.
