"The car has been parked for 14 years in a carport. It won't start but the engine rolls over. It needs a technical review, service and valet."

Description

Sold for a Saab enthusiast who has had the car since 1991, but has not used it after 2008. The model is unusual as it was built by hand in Nystad in Finland, (as the most luxurious Saab model before the Saab 9000 and the convertible came in 1986). Its background was that when the Wallenbergs invested in Saab at the end of the 1970s, they wanted the pampas of business to drive Saab. Therefore, the extended CD model was developed. The model was extended by 20 cm at the rear doors and always had a 145 hp turbo engine and a more luxurious interior etc. This car is from the model year 1983 but was taken in 1984. 1983 was the year when most CD cars were built (153 units), so we suspect that this was left standing for a year at a Saab dealer before it was sold. Namely, the CD model cost almost 30% more than a standard 900 turbo sedan.
This example has only travelled 137,000 km and was parked in a carport at the owner's home in the south of Sweden in the autumn of 2008. The car is complete and neat but has some rust on the lower edges (see pictures). It looks great underneath and on top. The interior is in normal condition. The car has not been started for several years. The engine turns and it ignites with starting gas but does not start. needs technical review, new battery and service. Original turbine TRX aluminium wheels are included. Winter wheels are on.

  • Interior condition:

Interior in normal condition for 130,000 km. Needs cleaning.

  • Exterior condition:

The body is in good condition, and the paintwork is good, although there are stone chips and small scratches, as well as little rust damage on the lower body.

  • General condition:

Good overall impression but requires some service / mechanical work before it can be used again. Historically interesting model that is very rare and has great collector value in Saab circles.
