"An imposing and comfortable luxury cruiser."

Description

Originally, the car was driven in Germany between 1992 and 1999, during which it accumulated 139,000 km according to the service book—though the number of owners it had in Germany is unknown. In 1999, the car came to Sweden. It was registered here in October that year, and just two months later it was purchased by the owner prior to the current one.

That owner was half-blind and did not have a driver’s license, so whenever he wanted to go for a drive, he had to hire a chauffeur. The car was only used during summers and was always stored away in September, only to be brought out again the following June. For the rest of the year, it was parked, protected from the winter weather.

The current owner bought the car in March 2021. At that point, it had been off the road since September 30, 2014. Its condition was not great—the engine only ran in limp mode, and the hazard lights could randomly switch on by themselves, draining the battery. After much troubleshooting, he eventually found the fault in the instrument cluster and brought the car back to life. On August 1, 2023, it passed inspection without any remarks.

Unfortunately, the hazard light issue soon returned, repeatedly draining the battery. After even more troubleshooting and plenty of time spent online, the owner realized he had to take the car to a BMW workshop. Their diagnostics revealed interruptions in the engine control unit. He managed to source a used unit from Germany, replaced it—and sure enough, that was the problem. On July 3, 2025, the car passed inspection again without any remarks.

After a few longer test drives, however, the water pump failed, but it has since been replaced with a new one, along with the drive belts. The engine oil and filter were last changed at around 155,000 km.

The car is therefore once again in usable condition and ready for the next chapter in its history. Service book and some documentation, including receipts and inspection records, are included—see pictures. A set of keys comes with the car.

Tires with good tread depth, purchased in 2021. The windshield shows some wear and is slightly cloudy at the bottom edge. The front bumper has scuff marks in the paint.
