Mechanical condition
This car starts easily and runs smoothly and steadily. Everything seems to function well, and during a test drive in an urban environment, you can feel the powerful engine pushing from the front. The automatic transmission feels smooth, as do the brakes, etc. There's a slight oil leak from the power steering. Otherwise, a general inspection and service should be carried out. It hasn't been checked on a lift, but it looks good, and the vehicle inspection didn't note any issues underneath.

Interior condition
The interior is in a good original condition with nice resilience in the seats and back seat. Door panels, ceiling, and floor mats are in good condition. The same goes for the steering wheel, dashboard, instruments, and wooden details. The AC worked and cooled but should be checked. The period-correct stereo system has uncertain functionality, the code is missing. The left electric window in the back is not working. Otherwise, everything seemed to function as it should, including the electric sunroof.

Exterior condition
The paintwork is glossy and looks good, but there are areas and details to inspect and fix. There are also stone chips and some patina. Glossy, glass, plastic, and rubber are in good condition, but here too there are details to address. Nice rims, one hubcap is loose, and there's some rim scuffing. Michelin tires in the back are in good shape, but different tires at the front (legal but not optimal). Engine and trunk compartments are in good condition.

General condition
A Mercedes in silver metallic, with black leather upholstery, wooden details, and a powerful V8 combined with a smooth automatic, and otherwise fully equipped for its time, is always a classic and a vehicle with collector's status.

Facts about the model
Series 1 was produced for the model years 1985-1989. Series 2, with larger protective strips at the bottom, came for the 1990 model year. Specifically, the 400 E model received a V8 of 4,196 cm3 producing 279 horsepower and was produced starting from the 1991 model year. Series 3 was introduced for the 1994 model year. A modified radiator grille, bumpers, and lights were introduced. The 'E' designation was now placed before the model version instead of after.
A total of 2,583,470 units of the W124 model and its various body styles were produced.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
