Description

This is how Klassiker magazine describes the car in issue 9, 2022:

In Sweden, the Mini Moke was never in BMC's model range, but three cars were sold new here. At least one and maybe a few more were imported but never registered. This Moken left the factory on September 27, 1966, intended for the Swedish market. There is little factual information to lean on about Moken's history. What you can see with your eyes is that this is a car that has never been in traffic and has instead been left standing - probably it has almost always been well-stored considering the condition.

On the headlights are the decals that were fitted to BMC cars delivered before the right-hand traffic diversion. "Not to be removed before September 3, 1967," says the right-hand asymmetric headlights. A date came and went for this car with no reason to remove the stickers

Condition

    The engine rolls over but has not been started, needs a service before start-up.

    The original interior is in undamaged condition but needs a valet, light surface rust is present.

  • Exterior condition:

    Original paint with a few blemishes and there is some surface rust on some parts. The tyres hold air and seem to have survived dry cracking.

  • General condition:

    This is a unique opportunity to come across a new car that is 56 years old, the Holy Grail of Mini Moke enthusiasts.

Facts about the model

Mini Moke var tänkt som ett fordon för militärt bruk men den brittiska militären nobbade bilen efter att ha testat den. Kanske var projektet för långt gånget för det blev en civil version av bara farten. BMC startade tillverkningen 1964. Moke var extremt spartansk, endast en vind­rutetorkare var standard, en andra extrautrustning. Passagerarstol och baksäte fanns också bland de få tillvalen. Mini Moke såldes både som Austin och Morris men båda versionerna tillverkades i Austinfabriken i Longbridge. Även i BMC:s sammansättningsfabrik i Sydafrika och dåvarande Rhodesia sattes Mini Moke samman.

Mellan 1964 och 1968 tillverkades bara 14 518 exemplar i England och 90 procent av dem gick på export. I Australien startade tillverkningen 1966 där Moke byggdes fram till 1981, då hade redan produktionen kommit i gång i Portugal där modellen tillverkades fram till 1993. Trots ett varmare mer passande klimat i de länderna så fortsatte försäljningen att vara blygsam. I Australien tillverkades 26 142 bilar och i Portugal 10060 exemplar.

  • During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
  • Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
  • When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
  • If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
  • If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
  • Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
  • For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
