Technical data
Condition
-
Mechanical condition
As previously mentioned, the car feels mechanically sound and composed, tracking nicely on the road without any rattles. The brakes were replaced around five years ago, and since then the car has only seen very limited use. A timing belt replacement is recommended due to age, as it was last carried out approximately 12–13 years ago. The speedometer functions somewhat inconsistently, but aside from that all other technical functions are in proper working order. The car was inspected relatively recently and has covered only a handful of kilometers since then.
-
Interior condition
The interior is in honest driver-quality condition. The relatively high mileage has resulted in some wear to the driver’s seat backrest and the steering wheel. There is also a repair visible on the driver’s side door panel. The upholstery is somewhat dirty, but it should definitely respond well to a proper textile cleaning.
-
Exterior condition
As for the bodywork, there are a number of scratches, minor dents, and scuff marks. Something appears to have happened to the paint on the tailgate, as it has become heavily faded and dull — unfortunate, since the rest of the paintwork still retains a nice gloss. There is no damage to the windows or light units.
-
General condition
An overall impression of a well-used car, with a number of areas that could be improved for the more discerning enthusiast. Refinishing parts of the paintwork along with a few smaller interior fixes would significantly elevate the car’s overall presentation.

Facts about the model
The 1991 model year falls within the S13 era, with the chassis produced primarily between 1988 and 1994. The S13 was offered in several body styles, including coupé and fastback/three-door variants, along with multiple engine options depending on market specifications.
Engines and drivetrain (typical for 1991 depending on market)
The CA18DET 1.8-liter turbo engine was fitted to some earlier S13 versions, though by 1991 many markets had transitioned to Nissan’s SR-series engines.
SR20DE — naturally aspirated 2.0-liter inline-four engine.
SR20DET — turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four, the high-performance variant found in many Japanese and European S13/Silvia/200SX models and particularly sought after among enthusiasts.
Drivetrain: rear-wheel drive (RWD), contributing greatly to the car’s driving dynamics and later drifting popularity.
Gearboxes: available with both 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
Performance (approximate figures depending on engine and market)
SR20DET versions typically produced around 200–220 hp in factory specification, depending on exhaust setup, ECU calibration, and market.
SR20DE versions produced approximately 140–150 hp.
Top speed and acceleration varied significantly depending on engine specification and vehicle weight, though turbocharged SR20DET cars delivered distinctly more sporting performance.
Design and chassis
Lightweight and well-balanced chassis with a short wheelbase.
Excellent aftermarket support for suspension, brakes, and styling upgrades.
The 1991 S13 design is still widely regarded as a timeless example of 1990s sports car styling. Minor facelifts occurred during production, though the overall shape remained highly recognizable.
Market, culture, and aftermarket scene
The 200SX/Silvia S13 remains extremely popular within tuning and drifting communities thanks to its rear-wheel-drive layout, strong engine options — especially the SR20DET — and excellent parts availability. A vast aftermarket exists for turbo upgrades, engine management systems, steering modifications, suspension kits, and body components.
Today, the S13 is a highly sought-after enthusiast car, where condition, originality, engine specification, and freedom from rust or accident damage are major factors influencing value.
