"I don't think I've ever driven a PV that runs this quietly and smoothly. This is a unique car with unique documentation."

Description

A very fine PV in full working order that runs quietly and smoothly on the road. The car has had the same owner since new and is one of the last to leave the factory in Hisingen in 1966, with chassis number 439547. The owner was an aircraft technician, and he left his mark on the car. It is exceptionally well-maintained and was re-registered in 1980 when a B20 engine was installed. It has also been fitted with front disc brakes and a brake booster.

Additionally, it features ventilation grilles on the rear fenders and vent openings below the rear window to minimize condensation. Retractable seat belts and headrests on the front seats have been installed. The car has also been soundproofed with a thick wall-to-wall carpet. See photos.

The car drives fantastically quietly and smoothly, and the brakes are absolutely outstanding for a PV. Even the door handles have retained their original positions. See photos. The aftermarket gauges for RPM, oil pressure, and engine temperature have been neatly integrated, and all gauges and controls work properly.

A cassette player is mounted above the gear lever, which has resulted in the hood release lever being shortened and a bit tricky to operate. The car comes with virtually all its original documentation, neatly organized in two comprehensive binders. These include all receipts, insurance papers, inspection reports, etc., dating back to when the car was new.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The engine starts easily and runs quietly, with no unusual noises. The gearbox and clutch are in perfect working order. The brakes are excellent, and the handbrake functions flawlessly. All instruments are working, including the aftermarket ones. Steering and suspension are without faults, and the tires and rims are in good condition.

  • Interior condition:

The original red fabric upholstery is in good condition, except for a repair on the back of the driver's seat and the cutouts made for the aftermarket headrests. See photos. The headliner is intact and clean. Parts of the interior have been covered with blue wall-to-wall carpet for sound insulation. See photos. The rubber floor mat shows normal wear.

  • Exterior condition:

The car has its original paint, with touch-ups done in a few areas. See photos. Overall, the condition is very good thanks to regular waxing and careful maintenance. There are signs of stone chips and other marks from normal use. A couple of minor dents on the right rear fender are visible under certain lighting conditions. The trunk lid, doors, and hood all have excellent fitment.

The four auxiliary lights are connected and in very good condition. The chrome parts show signs of pitting and light wear upon close inspection.

There is no rust damage, but traces of earlier minor repairs can be seen on the left door sill and the rear left fender edge. See photos. Otherwise, the car appears to be completely rust-free.

The wheels feature chrome hubcaps with so-called "beauty rings" and are all in good condition.

  • General condition:

A very fine PV that runs extremely quietly and smoothly.

Facts about the model

Offered for sale on behalf of an estate. The car has had the same owner since it was delivered by Bilbolaget in Östersund and has remained in the area ever since. The owner, an aircraft technician, upgraded the car with a B20 engine and front disc brakes with a brake booster, and completed a new registration inspection at the time. He also installed front seat retractable seat belts and mounted headrests on the front seats, as well as added ventilation from the inside of the rear window and through vents on the rear fenders. The car was further equipped with a tachometer, oil pressure gauge, and engine temperature gauge.
