Description

This is the last Swedish-delivered TVR 350i in Sweden. It is a 1989 model but was sold as an '88 model to avoid emission regulations. It was originally sold by Bengt Dieden at Millies to the first owner in June 1990, after serving as a display car for TVR at the 1989 Paris Motor Show. The first owner drove the car for 20 years until May 2010, accumulating 24 000 km. The second buyer then took ownership and drove it for 9 years, adding an additional 28 000 km. The third owner is the son of the first owner, who grew up with the car and had the opportunity to buy it back into the family. At that time, some work was done on the car, including changing all the fluids, fitting new tires, replacing rear drive shafts and CV joints, replacing front suspension bushings, wheel bearings all around, and performing a wheel alignment, among other things.

The current owner purchased the car just over a year ago. It has been driven sparingly and always kept in a garage. Throughout the years, it has been enjoyed as an enthusiast's car, with few owners, and it currently has a mileage of 32 430 km. Furthermore, it is likely the most extensively documented TVR car, with accompanying folders containing everything from purchase agreements, service records, and maintenance information to brochures and numerous articles in automotive magazines, including the Klassiker magazine, issue number 6 of 2021.

Facts about the model

Trevor Wilkinson started his business in 1947, and the journey of the abbreviation TVR has since been a turbulent history, much like many other British sports car manufacturers on the fringes of the equally unstable British automotive industry. However, they have managed to survive and rise again, like the mythical bird Phoenix. In 1980, TVR introduced the new Tasmin 280i model, featuring a 2.8L V6 engine and a wedge-shaped, angular design. In 1983, they fitted a 3.5L V8 engine from Rover, and the model was subsequently renamed Tasmin 350i. The following year, the name Tasmin was dropped, and the cars were simply referred to as 280i and 350i, popularly known as the "Wedge" due to their wedge-shaped design. Production of the Wedge continued until 1991. They were built as 2-seater convertibles and 2-seater or 2+2 coupés, with engine options including four-cylinders, six-cylinders, or eight-cylinders. Specifically, the TVR Tasmin 350i was produced in 949 units between 1984 and 1989.
