Condition
-
Mechanical condition
Due to weather and road conditions, a longer test drive couldn't be conducted, but the car started easily and ran surprisingly smoothly and calmly in both engine and transmission. The entire vehicle appears to be solid and well-built. Everything functions as it should. It wasn't checked on a lift, but what could be seen looked very good. There is a photo taken from underneath at an earlier occasion.
-
Interior condition
The interior is in original condition with impeccable carpets, door panels, and headliner. The seats and rear seat are in very fine condition. The original radio works and has also been upgraded with modern features. The instrument panel is also in fine condition, enhanced with additional instrumentation, including temperature and oil pressure gauges. The original oil pressure warning light is also functional. The car features new, fine rubber seals and details.
-
Exterior condition
The bodywork is straight and fine, with the paintwork and vinyl roof in good condition. The door fit on the passenger side could be improved. The glass and chrome are also in similarly good condition, as are the wheels and tires. The engine and trunk compartments are in the same fine condition, with just a minor paint chip on the firewall.

General condition
The low production figures for Mopar during the transition period of the late 60s and early 70s, compared to GM and Ford, make these vehicles from the muscle car era highly interesting as classic cars and collector's items. If they are in a condition and specification like this vehicle, they are highly sought after in the market, both in the USA and here in Europe.

Facts about the model
When GM launched the so-called muscle car era with the Pontiac GTO in 1964, Mopar was quick to follow suit. They developed models such as the Dodge Charger and Plymouth Roadrunner. Powerful and cool cars from GM, Ford, and Mopar competed for the market within the muscle car epithet, but the "war" was over with the oil crisis of 1973, ending a fantastic decade of sought-after cars that are popular even today.
The Plymouth Roadrunner was a midsize car that arrived right in the middle of the muscle car era and was produced from 1968. Initially, it had Mopar's 383 engine, with the more powerful 426 Hemi engine available as an option until the 1971 model year. From 1969, a 440 engine was also available. After the muscle car era ended, the Plymouth Roadrunner continued to be produced with more modest engines until 1980. The Plymouth brand was completely discontinued in 2001.
