Description

The following information is supplied by the seller:-
David Senning, a veterinarian, was a well-known motorbike racer who won many prestigious events. He tested numerous brands but was dissatisfied with them and so wishes to make his own. In 1922, Senning contacted engineer Gustaf Dahlin, and the two collaborated to build 10 test bikes with Husqvarna frames and Swiss M.A.G. engines. The DS entered series production in 1924, with a 500 cc and a 750 cc model powered by M.A.G. engines and a few with English JAP engines. Approximately 500 DS were produced in white or black till 1927. Nils Berg, Ture Tjernberg, Axel Larsson, Holger Eriksson, and Valter Persson renovated it in the 1960s. In 1924, the price was SEK 1,500.

This motorcycle comes with a duplicate of the original registration paperwork as well as the former registration number E1589, which can be used to re -register the bike if necessary. The bike was registered in 1925 and spent most of its early life in the Norrköping area until the 1960s, when it was renovated and spent the rest of its life in a collection. The present owner is a Swedish/Dutch collector who purchased the bike a few years ago and would love to sell it to a Swedish collector because it is such an iconic piece of Swedish motorcycle history. If the reserve fee is met, the bike will be transported back to Sweden from Holland.
