Description
This car was first registered in Malmö in January 1998. The previous owner drove it very sparingly, and when the current owner purchased it in February 2022, it had only 9,000 km on the clock. The current owner has given the car a great deal of care, making it difficult to find even the smallest spot of dirt anywhere on the vehicle.
Unfortunately, documentation is missing, as the current owner bought the car from an estate sale where papers were not available. The car passed its latest inspection in May 2025 and comes with two keys, the original jack, and a spare wheel.

Technically, there is nothing more to wish for—the car runs like a dream. The very fine LTT engine pulls smoothly and effortlessly throughout the entire rev range. All technical functions are in perfect order.

Stunning exterior condition. The only thing we've found are a few minor scratches on the right side mirror, barely visible. New tires mounted on classic original wheels.

Facts about the model
The Volvo 940 was an evolution of the 740 series, carrying clear design cues inside and out from its predecessor. The 940’s front end was taken from the facelifted 760 series introduced for the 1988 model year. The 900 series (which includes the 940, 960, S90, and V90) ceased production on February 5, 1998.
Early on, the 940 faced competition from the Volvo 850, a more modern design featuring front-wheel drive, a transverse engine layout, and better fuel efficiency. Both models were sold side by side for several years, with the 940 enjoying some success as a taxi and police car. Some loyal Volvo customers remained skeptical of the new front-wheel-drive setup and chose to stick with the 940.
The car became known for being trouble-free and reliable. Since it was largely an evolution of proven earlier technology, it rarely caused problems.
With the light-pressure turbo (designated LTT), the car offers plenty of torque even at low engine speeds.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
