"A good-condition original car. Leather upholstery is very nice. Front wings have been repainted and runs well"

Description

The vehicle was a gift from the current owner's car-savvy and aviation-savvy father. Several T-fords, among others, were restored by her father. He was extremely knowledgeable, and he built and sold wood chassis for T-Ford. He also built veteran planes, such as a Pietenpol. He wanted to share the interest to his three children because he enjoyed flying and driving. Morris was purchased from the car's sole owner in 1997 in Dalby, Skåne.
The car is in the same condition as it was purchased in 1997. The current owner has serviced and maintained it throughout her ownership. With the exception of repainted front wings it’s completely original. In the cars history, the current owner is only the third.

Facts about the model

Quoted from the Swedish Magazine Klassiker:

"On September 20, 1948, the new Minor was unveiled at Earls Court. What visitors saw was a currently modern body, with a range of features previously reserved for larger cars. Front torsion suspension, rack and pinion steering and more.
The great injector behind Minor, and for that matter the larger Oxford and Six models that were presented at the same time, was Alec Issigonis. He wanted even a cheap simple car to feel safe and secure to drive.

Minor was modern for much of its time, but it had inherited two things. The side valve engine of 918cc had roots in the 20s and the name, Minor had existed before in Morris model flora, the years 1928-33.

The early models looked a bit cloudy with the headlights low mounted in the grille. This changed quite soon. In 1950, a four-door Minor came with the lights on the screens instead. Gradually, they changed places on the rest of the models some time into 1951.

Otherwise, there were quite a few updates, but with the merger with Austin in 1952, they got a more modern driveline. Austin's top fan was a little smaller, 808cc but a little more nimble, which meant that the Minor for the first time could get over 100km / h, barely and evenly. In 1953 came a combi called Traveler with wooden construction, as well as a pickup and a van.

In 1956 things happened, a new larger engine, a new gearbox and larger windows all around were the big differences. Under the shell, more and more Austindelar crawled in. It was a matter of rationalizing production by introducing more and more common components. A new grill had begun to be introduced in 1954, all updates went a little differently fast, and for 1956 and onwards it was called Minor 1000.

In 1960, the Minorn became historic, the first British car model to sell one million copies.
In 1962, a larger engine came and more changes with modern interiors, larger turn signals and taillights and more were made until 1964 to try to keep up with modern times. But after that, they completely stopped upgrading it. Minor had already got significantly more modern siblings in the form of the Austin / Morris 1100, and not least the new big little shooting star, Mini, or Mini Minor as it was called at Morris.

Nevertheless, the Minor was retained in the program until 1970, the open Minor called tourer was deleted in 1969. But the Traveler and the van were still popular and did not stop being made until 1971 ".
