Facts about the model

The Opel Admiral from 1939 was the Prestige model that would compete with Mercedes, Maybach and the third great German luxury car brand-Horch. The admiral was developed upfront the 75 anniversary of Opel 1937 and was manufactured only during the two years 1937 – 39, before Opel was forced to resubmit its production to simpler vehicles due to the war.
It was produced only 2314 convertible version and it makes this model especially rare and coveted. There are only a few copies left in the world and an additional specimen in Sweden. Extremely few in the original condition of this, however, In spite of good attempts, Opel never managed to get through as a luxury car manufacturer. Neither Admiral, Kapitän or Diplomat became commercial success. The last attempt with a luxury car-Opel Senator-was put down 1993. More and more collectors of unique cars have started to take an interest in Opel's luxury cars and the pre-war Admiral Cabrilolet is the one that stands highest in the international market.
