"A Series II with the more convenient 2 + 2 body. Good, well-functioning working condition. Some paint damage and blisters exist but nothing serious."

Description

This Jaguar E-Type 4, 2 is in good working order, and has since it came to Sweden from Denmark 2015 been part of an extensive and very exclusive collection of classics. This copy is thus a Series II – which was manufactured only between 1968 and 1970. In addition, it is sold new in Europe, which means that the wonderful 4.2-liter six has triple SUP carburettors instead of double that of the US-sold wagons. This is also equipped with manual box and unusual sunroof.
The E-type is untreated but has sometime got a new coating that today is neat but not perfect. The same level holds the chrome where the bumpers are probably swapped while the rest is the original. The spoke-rims are in good working condition but some dirt and surface rust exists. The interior is the original in white leather, which would lift thoroughly with a proper cleaning and some detail work. Over the past few years, this Jaguar has only been launched from time to time, but functioning well before it came into the current owner's collection three years ago. At the sale it will be delivered started and should probably not require any major jobs before the inspection. This is one of the sports car world's most classics, and some detail work and care will lift this copy further!

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Run nicely and was well functioning before it came in the current owner's collection three years ago. Has since just been booted from time to time. Will be delivered started and serviced.
Not inspected but most of it works, and the car should pass an inspection without major problems. Good tires front and rear.

  • Interior condition:

Should lift with a proper cleaning and lubrication. A small hole - left backrest. Otherwise no major damage in addition to the skin that has many smaller cracks. Dirty and timeworn rugs. Retrofitted aftermarket loudspeakers. Visible cabling on the floor to the speakers. Hanging sunshade on the left side. The glass to the interior lighting is missing. The plastic instrument panel has been released at the bottom of the glove compartment hatch. Defective gear shift gaiter.

  • Exterior condition:

Basically a nice lacquer but some minor flaws exists. Some lacquer bubbles and color lip are available. A number of small rust bubbles around the rear window and hood, some smaller on the left sill. Small bump left door. Poor lacquer on the sill part running under the bonnet, left side. Front bumper – Very small skavak on the right side. The rear more or less perfect. Otherwise, chrome is probably the original-today a little-nopprigt in a few places. Ekerfälgarna Shiny and straight – but not perfect. Worn rubber strips around the front window.

  • General condition:

Untouched well functioning original, some time ago repainted. With a little attention to some details and a little repainting, it will be in a very fine working condition.

Facts about the model

The Jaguar E-Type struck down as a bomb when it was presented on Genévesalongen 1961. This was truly a supercar and it was raised to the skies. The base of an E-Type is a self-supporting monocoque and initially Jaguar's 3.8-liter XK engine that grew to 4, 2 liters of 1967.
The body was designed by the aerodynamics mathematician Malcolm Sayer who came from the aircraft manufacturer Bristol. And certainly, the legacy of the aerospace industry is clearly visible with the karos sides shaped like wings and muzzle most like air intake to a rea motor.
The Jaguar E-Type Series II was launched at Earls Court in October 1968 and as its predecessor it was available in three body models – open Roadster, Fixedhead Coupé and 2 + 2 Coupé. The roadster and the seater coupé still had the same wheelbase as the original Series I, while two plus two runners were slightly longer.
The Jaguar E-Type with Series II was manufactured only between 1968 and 1970 – before being replaced by the heavier Series III with V12 engine and completely different in character from the first two generations.
