Description
Owned by the same family since 1973 the cars was fully renovated in 2007 for over 90,000kr. The renovation was carried out in Poland by famous renovation company Mszana the car has been featured in Klassiker magazine. This car has hardly been driven since its renovation and remains in top condition. Its pleasure to drive and very practical, being the 2000 model its pretty rare and collectable.

Fully renovated engine that runs like a clock, drove the car 50 joyful kilometers without a problem. The brake work fine but need an adjustment, gearbox and clutch perfect, everything works as it should.

Interior condition
The whole interior is original and fresh, the dashboard has a small crack, drivers seat clothe is worn the interior seat could be better with a clean. Headliner, door cards and instruments all in good condition.

Exterior condition
This car is fully renovated to a high standard and has a professional paint work, chrome work is good,nice fitting body panels. Small mark on the passenger door chrome center edge. Hard to find a nicer car.

If the drivers seat clothe was replaced and back seats cleaned it would be a 5, its a fun car to drive and very eye catching.

Facts about the model
This model serie was developed as a shorter 2-door variant of the BMW 1600 and the first model that came 1966 was therefore named 1600-2. The idea was that it would be a simpler and cheaper model than the existing 4-door models.
The bodywork was slightly narrower and with shorter overhangs, which together with 5 cm shorter wheelbase and lower weight gave nice driving characteristics.
The car was known for its driving pleasure, with relatively high power and rear-wheel drive with split rear axle.
BMW 2000 was designed of BMW's by the design director Wilhelm Hofmeister. The mechanical parts were identical between the Model series, and it was a natural step to also make a version with 2-litre. One reason to offer the car with such a large engine was that the sportier 1600ti model with twin carburetors did not cope with the exhaust requirements in the United States.
The 02 series had some unusual technical solutions, like the side windows lacked frames. The glass pane rested directly on the door bar. All the pedals were suspended at the bottom. The bonnet was opened forward.
