Facts about the model

1968 Camaro, 327 cu in engine (from 1965 Corvette) with T-10 4 speed trans and 12 bolt rear. My Camaro was taken off the street in 1973 when it had 43,000 original miles. The second owner turned it into a Modified Production drag race car. It ran C, D & E / MP in 1974 and 1975.

When it last raced at the 1975 Summernationals @ Raceway Par, NJ it ran a de stroked 327 which produced 301 cu in. The engine is outfitted with all of the best speed parts available in 1975. Angle plug heads, roller cam, tunnel ram with 2 660 cfm Holley carbs, 9 qt oil pan, headers and electronic ignition.

It is a factory 4 speed car. The 12 bolt rear has Sommers Bros axles and 6:14 gears. The previous owner said the car went through the traps at 8500 rpm. It has a period roll bar, belts and drive shaft loop. The car is not cut up, missing parts are radio, wiper motor and heater. Wheels and tires are as raced in 1975, Cragar super tricks on front with Moroso drag specials, and Superior slots on rear with M & H 30-15 slicks.

With the exception of the Moroso cable drive tach, 2 under dash gauges and a bolt in roll bar, the interior is in excellent original condition. Factory dash, seats, glass, door panels, headliner, are very nice. Original carpet is worn.

The good news is the previous owner parked the car in 1975 and it is a time warp back to a great era of drag racing. The lacquer custom paint was applied in 1973 and shows 41 years of cracking peeling & patina. I had drag racing legend Bruce Larson inspect the car at the Old Days Drags and he said, keep it the way it is, I agree. You can restore if you wish. I have the 1975 Summernationals racing program and my car is listed as a contestant in Modified Production.

There are 2 small rust spots on the bottom of the fenders, the floors and trunk are solid. The car is an unbelievable barn / garage find and would take little work to put either back on the race track or make a wicked street car. It has a clean NJ title and the vin plate and cowl tag are as new. It is a LeMans Blue car with standard interior.
