Description
An interesting Volvo model that was sold new in the USA in 1980 and which was bought in 1989 by a Swedish family who worked "over there". They took it home as moving goods and are the only owners here in Sweden.
It has been driven sparingly as an enthusiast car during the bright half of the year and has always been garaged and has been serviced regularly by a relative who was a Volvo employee. When the car arrived in Sweden, the speedometer was replaced from miles to km, whereby the new meter was adjusted to the actual mileage, so the current mileage is correct. Original mats, a toolkit, a compressor for tyres and a Volvo radio are available. Paint protected.
The car has participated in various events and received both attention and awards and been featured in newspaper articles. A Volvo Bertone Coupé that has attracts attention.

The engine reacts well and the automatic transmission works seamlessly. Because the car has been sitting for a while, it has to be serviced and driven a few miles to make it even smoother.

Interior condition
The interior design is wonderful and opulent. From floor to ceiling, in excellent shape with some patina, like it should be.

Exterior condition
Nice paintwork and vinyl roof as well. The chassis looks very nice. Glass and vinyl/rubber look fresh. The Sealed beam headlights equipped from the USA remain and give the car a tough look. The wheels are without curb marks but slightly whitewashed in some places.

Overall a very nice original car that has a lot left to give its next owner.

Facts about the model
Volvo har genom sin historia ibland lämnat de trygga standardvagnarna och vågat sig på lite utsvävningar. Vi har sett modeller som Carioca, Volvo Sport 1900, P 1800, P1800S samt ES.
År 1977 presenterades så ett samarbete med designföretaget Carrozzeria Bertone i Italien, Volvo 262 Coupé, i grunden en 264 med två dörrar och sänkt tak, ursprungligen ett designförslag från Jan Vilsgaard. Modellen byggdes modellåren 1977-1981 i 6.622 exemplar. De första åren endast i silver med svart vinyl på taket men from årsmodell 1979 i guldmetallic utan vinyl. Året därpå försvann den ursprungliga silver- och vinylkombon men istället tillkommer svart- och ljusblåmetallic. Sista året tillkom även en tvåfärgad version i guld och nougat. Inredningen var efter den tidens Volvo-standard - höjden av lyx. Överdåd av läder i dörrsidor (skrynklat), stolar (raffigt mönstrade), stolpar, tak, ratt och mittkonsol etc. Det mesta som rörde sig, var elstyrt och tjocka fina tygmattor dämpade ljud och gav en lyxig ombonad känsla. Även bagageutrymmet, ja till och med verktygspåsen, var i härligt tjockt material. Modellen blev en klassiker redan under sin produktionstid.
