"Rebuilt with much care by a specialist"

Description

The car was rebuilt, with great care, by an enthusiast in Sweden to emulate the prototype that Volkswagen itself manufactured (WBX = WaterBoXer.)
Equipped with 2.1L water-cooled boxer engine, type "MV", from Type2, equipped with lambda controlled motor control system and catalytic converter. Power: 95 hp. Original gearbox, 4 gears.
The car is thus water-cooled. The cooler sits inside the luggage hood where the spare wheel usually stands. The cooling system comes from a VW Transporter and has a thermostatically controlled electric fan. The water pipes are drawn inside the right sill and are hidden under the carpet. The heating package also comes from a Transporter. Provides with the fan a nice warmth and fog-free windows.
Original color, called Arrow Green.
Wheels from VW Big.
The rebuilding is approved by the Swedish MOT.
NOTE! Not tested / reviewed by Bilweb Auctions. The description is based on the owner's information. Winning bidders should check and assess the car's condition before it is picked up.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

No renovations were needed. The engine starts and runs great. No signs of running hot. The car handles well, and the brakes are good. Good pattern in the tires. Just passed the MOT with no comments.

  • Interior condition:

New ceiling and new belts in the back seat were mounted this spring. The front seats comes from VW Golf. The back seat is in the same fabric similar to the front seats.
All installation of the water cooling that passes through the cabin is very well made and hidden under the carpet.
The fuel gauge does not always show correctly.

  • Exterior condition:

There are paint blisters, but they are in clear and easily adjustable places. The rear fenders and plate under the bonnet were replaced during the rebuild.
Paint damage under the fuel cap from gasoline splashes. Good chrome.

  • General condition:

With a little work on the paint, the car will be very nice. Proper engine washing and cleaning up some details on the engine would enhance the look. Oil and filter changes as well as new spark plugs were made last autumn. The owner estimates that the car has only been driven a couple of 1000 km a year in recent times.
Documentation from the car's early years is included.
If desired, the car's previous water cooled 1.9L engine and with carburetor can be included in the deal.
