Description
A man from Eringsboda bought the car new in 1983, delivered by Volvex in Blekinge. He used it sparingly until 1988, when a man from eastern Blekinge bought it. This man drove the Volvo until 1989, when he fell ill and the car was taken off the road and put away in a garage.
The current owner bought the car in 2023 and began a mechanical restoration that was completed this past summer. There is no serious rust damage, but some surface rust is visible in a few places. Mechanical condition
The car runs excellently and everything works well. The current owner has carried out a number of repairs since the purchase (see description).

Interior condition
Very fine and well-preserved original interior with only a few signs of use. The seats look almost completely unused.

Exterior condition
Fine paint with a few minor blemishes. Surface rust is present at the rear fender edges, along with some door edge chips and a small blemish on the trunk lid. The chrome is fine but has a couple of small dents on the bumper trim and one of the side moldings. The tires are new and mounted on blasted and repainted original wheels. The undercarriage is free from serious rust damage and has never been welded.

A fine 244 in original condition with a lovely patina, well worth preserving for the future.

Owner's comment
I collected the car in the fall of 2023 and brought it home to my garage, where I began a mechanical restoration.
The following work was completed prior to the inspection this past summer:
Replaced with a rebuilt cylinder head and a new original camshaft.
New timing belt, tensioner, and water pump.
New distributor, ignition wires, and spark plugs.
New fuel tank.
New original Volvo exhaust system (NOS).
New front and rear shock absorbers, as well as new tie rod ends and ball joints.
Rebuilt brake master cylinder, new brake calipers, hoses, and pads.
New heater core.
New fuel tank sender unit.
The original wheels have been blasted and repainted, and new tires have been mounted.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
