Mechanical condition
Starts easily and ran smoothly and quietly, with ample power in reserve when called upon. During a short test drive on smaller country roads, everything was found to work well, including the steering, the automatic gearbox with functioning kickdown, fine handling, and good brakes. Despite 26 years and just over 200,000 km, the car feels solid, stable, quiet, and comfortable - as if carved from a block of granite. A sense of quality and premium feel throughout.
Not checked on a lift, but everything that could be seen looked good. No remarks at inspections. -
Interior condition
Fine exclusive interior in original condition with all the luxury of its era, showing mild wear for its age and mileage. Fine comfort in the seats and rear seat. Door panels, trim panels, headliner, and carpets in the same fine condition. Steering wheel, controls, dashboard, and gauges in fine condition. Fine wood details. All electrical functions working well except for the reverse warning sensor, which needs attention. Fine sound system with a CD changer in the trunk. Working navigation system and trip computer functions. Power sunroof that works well. Discreet curtains for the rear side windows and rear window. Well-kept trunk.

Exterior condition
Aluminum body (Audi Space Frame) in fine condition. Appears to be the original paint, possibly the right rear fender has been repainted. Nice and glossy with mild normal wear from use. Glass, trim, emblems, and lighting details also in fine original condition. The red color on the S emblem on the tailgate has faded over the years. However, a new genuine replacement is included. Fine wheels and Pirelli tires from 10/21 in fine, unworn condition. The engine bay is in equally fine condition.

General condition
When the three big German manufacturers pushed the limits and competed in the premium segment around the turn of the millennium, Audi held its own, and the S8 version had many advocates, with good reason. The model is now approaching classic status, and as such, this example is a worthy representative.

Facts about the model
For the 2000 model year, a minor upgrade arrived with a modified front end, which included larger clear headlights, a new grille, and a lower front spoiler with new integrated fog lights. Otherwise, the exterior changes were mostly in the details. The interior was also modified. The engine options were a 2.8 V6 or a 4.2 L V8, the latter available with a short or long chassis. The S8 version featured sharper camshafts, higher compression, and optimized engine management, producing 360 hp (310 hp for the A8) with performance figures of 0-100 km/h in approximately six seconds and a limited top speed of 250 km/h. The five-speed automatic gearbox had a sportier calibration. It featured a sport chassis lowered by 2 cm, along with stiffer springs, firmer shock absorbers, and thicker anti-roll bars. The brakes had larger discs and more powerful calipers, and the steering was more direct and more speed-sensitive. The side mirrors had aluminum housings, along with a different grille and S8 emblems. The wheels were 18-inch Avus. Inside, it featured Recaro sport seats, different instrument dials, and trim panels, among other details.
In 2000, 12,894 examples of the A8 model were produced, of which approximately 900 were S8s.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
