Description
It was delivered new in Sweden in May 1969 by PH:s Motor AB in Borås to its first owner in the same city. With a brief exception of a few years (during which it was probably registered to a wife/partner or relative), he drove the car for over 50 years. The current owner has used the car sparingly for a couple of years, performed an oil service, and had it inspected. The most recent and final inspection was carried out on 2024-09-09. It was not uncommon for US export models to be sold in Sweden. Features that set them apart included a dual-circuit brake system, a collapsible safety steering column, a padded dashboard, special leather seats, and three windshield wipers. Quite simply, a more refined version of the model.

Mechanical condition
The engine feels as it should, sensitive to the choke, but runs nicely after a while. Brakes, clutch, and chassis also feel normal. The overdrive works well. Some overpainted parts and wiring in the front section of an otherwise good engine bay.

Interior condition
Untouched interior in normal good condition; the US model had special seats with their own unique pattern. The trunk is painted black – it was normally painted in the car's color, but it may also be black from the factory, as it appears to be. The radio works fine through a single small speaker.

Exterior condition
Older repaint with wear, currently dusty and blotchy, but it can likely be brought back to a fine finish with a thorough, professional polish. The soft top is intact and fresh with all snaps and fittings in place. A set of extra good wire wheels with tires is included.

General condition
Two owners who used the car regularly, and a sensible condition with fine potential as a summer driver that is easy to achieve without any major effort.

Facts about the model
At the end of the 1950s, the project was launched with the MGB as the successor to the MGA. In September 1962, the new roadster was unveiled and received positively, by both the motoring press and customers. The 1798 cc engine with twin SU carburetors provided fine performance. The gearbox was a four-speed, but for a modest surcharge buyers could get an electric overdrive. The closed shooting brake version, the MGB GT, was introduced in 1965 and was styled by Pininfarina. With room for considerably more luggage than in the open roadster, it was also considerably more practical, but otherwise it was mostly just different springs and anti-roll bars that set it apart. With the 1965 model year, the engineering was also improved with a five-main-bearing crankshaft, an oil cooler as standard, and an electric tachometer. Two years later, a heavy six-cylinder truck engine was also fitted into the little sports car, both with and without a roof, called the MGC. It was sold between 1967 and 1969, and the most potent variant was the MGB V8 – with the big aluminum eight from Rover, which itself weighed less than the original cast-iron four. Thanks to the MGB being produced in large numbers, and all the way into the eighties, all spare parts and accessories are still available to buy, both as original parts and newly manufactured aftermarket parts. A sporty and relatively practical collector car appreciated by many enthusiasts, with a stable value.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
