"En otroligt välbevarad motorcykel av ovanligt slag. I stort sett orörd med original matchande motor och ram."

Description

The Interceptor became the last classic model from Royal Enfield. It was introduced in 1962, and in 1969, the Interceptor Series 2 was launched, featuring conventional coil ignition, wet sump lubrication, and an oil cooler. However, it was a short series, with one estimate stating that only just over 1,200 units were produced—most intended for export to the USA. These models featured a different tank that was chrome-plated and various other details.

This motorcycle is one such model, but it was sold new in Sweden. It was registered in 1973 and passed on to the next owner in 1975. However, it has seen very little use—total mileage is only 2,800 kilometers, and the last inspection was conducted in 1992.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

The motorcycle has been stored away for the last 30 years but was recently started without major issues. Everything works except for the horn. The tires are from the 1970s, and the front tire is likely the original one. An oil pressure gauge has been added afterward, which is the only deviation from the original condition of the machine.

  • Exterior condition:

The overall impression is very good. Some patina has naturally developed, mainly as light surface rust on the forks and small details. The engine covers are in excellent condition, as are the handlebars and grips. The chrome on the tank is in great shape, although the lettering has faded a bit. There is a small dent, which has always been there, likely a delivery damage.

  • General condition:

Seeing a well-preserved, untouched motorcycle from that era is truly exceptional—almost unique. It’s a rare find that only needs a simple service and a new set of tires to get back on the road.
