Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The car runs smoothly and works well. Carefully maintained by an enthusiastic owner. The gearbox with overdrive functions fine.

  • Interior condition

The interior is intact and fresh, showing only signs of careful use. It only needs a simple detailing to look truly great.

  • Exterior condition

An older paint job that has held up well, with only a few minor touch-ups. The chrome is in very good condition, as are the wire wheels with nice tires. The convertible top and tonneau cover are in good shape, while the hardtop’s paint is of a simpler quality. There is a crack in the windshield on the right side.

  • General condition

A wonderful summer car that is ready to drive and can be enjoyed immediately.

Facts about the model

In the late 1950s, the project for the MGB began as a successor to the MGA. In September 1962, the new roadster was unveiled and received positive reviews from both the automotive press and buyers. The 1798 cm³ engine with dual SU carburetors provided impressive performance. The transmission was four-speed, but for a modest extra fee, buyers could opt for an electric overdrive.

Starting in 1965, the technology improved with a five-bearing crankshaft, an oil cooler as standard, and an electric tachometer. Two years later, a six-cylinder engine was also introduced in the small car, available with or without a roof.

For the 1970 models, the radiator received a new look, and Rostyle aluminum wheels replaced the steel wheels. Wire wheels could always be ordered throughout the years.

The model also saw the addition of a V8 engine from Rover. Production continued until 1981. Later variants were produced, and it’s still possible to build a new car today, with a wide range of new bodies and parts available. This is a beloved and cherished model that never goes out of style.
