SAAB Sonett III V4 — 1973

• Mechanical condition

  The engine is tuned in the traditional manner, with a Weber carburetor, ported tops, a sharper camshaft, and a two-inch exhaust system. The tops have also been updated and optimized for unleaded petrol. With these procedures, the effect should be roughly 90 horses. The gearbox has been entirely rebuilt by a SAAB circuit specialist and has the right gear ratio (9:42).
  Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition, which is reflected in the driving experience. The only criticisms are that the choke cable needs to be adjusted and that the odometer was replaced after it was imported, so the mileage cannot be verified.

• Interior condition

  The interior is pleasant, tidy, and smells well. The current owner had the seat upholstered in deer leather, and the outcome is surprisingly fantastic. Carpets and ceilings are spotless, and the luggage compartment follows suit.

• Exterior condition

  Apart for the mentioned paint flaws is not obvious until up close, The rims are the nicest Sonnet rims from Saab, according to the present owner, however they were on an earlier model. The center caps (which are difficult to find) are constructed from tomato puree jar lids. "From the 400-gram jar," the owner claims, "creativity is still alive." The rims were manufactured by Swedish JP, and no brand-specific center caps are provided (see pictures.) The underbody and all metalwork is solid and rust free.

• General condition

  A true Sonnet in an overall very nice original design with a nice performance twist. The car comes with extensive and useful documentation, as well as a folder full of intriguing information that all Saab enthusiasts are seeking for.

• At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
• During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.

Important to know before placing your bids!

• Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
• When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
• If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
• If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
• Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
• For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
