"A Sport to be used sportily—for example, on the racetrack."

Description

It was delivered to its first owner in April 1965, according to records found online. For a more detailed history, full documentation can be obtained from the Swedish National Archives. The current owner bought the car from its previous keeper in 2004, as it stood on a trailer after a race—without a test drive—intending to keep it in his collection. At that time, it was essentially freshly built and had only been lightly driven. It was given some finishing touches and has remained in the condition you see today.

There are not many PV Sport cars on the grids of historic racing events, and given the model’s strong appeal among enthusiasts, a new owner might not be competing for podiums in historic racing—but will certainly have fun and bring joy both in the paddock and on the track. The car is in fact still road registered and appears to have been driven in northern Sweden, possibly originally bought there thanks to its rust-free body, making it a suitable base for a historic racing build. Comes with older HTP paperwork from 2004 (see picture).

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Genuine Sport engine with the correct numbers on the block. The engine has not been started during the documentation; the last time it ran was about 10 years ago. However, the engine has been turned over and the car itself has been rolled every year.

  • Interior condition:

Stripped and clean, just as a race car should be—even a road-registered PV Sport. The seat carries an older FIA homologation standard 8855-1999, which is still valid today, as more modern homologated seats do not physically fit in many historic race cars.

  • Exterior condition:

Some areas of the paint show shade variations in the red color. Whether this matters on a historic race car is debatable, but from a general perspective most would probably consider it of less importance than on a road car. The underside has also been painted, with very few signs of track use. Fitted with older homologated Pre-65 Dunlop Racing tires on original wheels.

  • General condition:

An affordable, presentable, and clean Sport, ready for a wide range of enjoyable opportunities—not just historic racing.
