Ford M151 A1 — 1966

Military Ford in complete, nicely renovated, and well-equipped condition. The fact that it has a pendulum axle in the back means that it was never sold on the civilian market in the United States.

"Stylish and representative military vehicle, designed and manufactured by Ford with interesting design history."

Description

It arrived in Sweden at the end of the 1980s and is thought to have passed through Big Bengt's car collection in Hillerstorp at some point. A previous owner had the genuine bullet holes in the car covered from service in Vietnam. That is, according to information. However, the bullet holes were real. The current owner has outfitted it with fine old Swedish field equipment such as telephones, telewire, camouflage netting, and other Ford field necessities. It was last inspected in July 2021 and is thus inspection exempt.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Vibrant machine once it has warmed up and the gearbox is easy to live with after a while. The car has a unique and nice mechanical starting procedure with both a manual pump and an electric fuel pump, an ignition knob and a start button on the floor high up to the left.

  • Interior condition:

Complete, clean and customarily spartan but functional interior design. Many extra accessories, more or less authentic.

  • Exterior condition:

The green matte paint is completely and nicely applied, and the canvas roof has a heavy feel and thickness. Good tread patterns on good tyres.

  • General condition:

Fun off-road Ford, rarer than a Willys Jeep, and with a military constructive heritage from the hotbeds of war in Korea and Vietnam.

Facts about the model
