Mechanical condition
The engine runs fine and the gearbox feels good. A proper engine clean makes a big difference. Good tires about 5 mm and a good exhaust system.

Interior condition
Dirty carpets. The headliner hangs down a little over the driver's side. Nice upholstery. Dirty in the boot but at the same time dry and nice.

Exterior condition
Matte paintwork, which can be improved with a polish. Dent on the left front wing and a little dents overall after it traveled 340,000 km.

General condition
The car is only driven in the salt-free northern roads and it has lived in garages in his spare time. A reliable workhorse that has many of happy mile left.

Facts about the model
700-serien introducerades med 760 som lanserades i februari 1982. 1984 kom den enklare och billigare systermodellen Volvo 740, vilken blev volymbilen. Först ut var 740 GLE med B23E-motor som hade insprutning och 130 hk. Därefter kom 740 GL med B23A som hade förgasare och 112 hk. Även 740 Turbo erbjöds med samma turbomotor som 760 Turbo. Våren 1985 kom herrgårdsvagnen av 740 som årsmodell 1985 i Nordamerika, övriga världen fick vänta tills hösten 1985 och årsmodell1 986.
Volvo 740 är enkelt uppbyggd med en självbärande kaross, rak 4-cylindrig radmotor med växellådan fäst direkt bakom en bit in i kardantunneln. Bakom växellådan sitter kardanaxeln som via ett stödlager och två drivknutar överför den drivande kraften till bakhjulen genom en stel gammaldags gjutjärnsbakaxel. Grunden i Volvos egentillverkade bensinmotorer är en femlagrad vevaxel, enkel överliggande kamaxel och två ventiler per cylinder.
Volvo 740 monterades och byggdes främst i Sverige men även i Belgien.
Produktionen upphörde med 1993 års modell hösten 1992 på grund av att den snarlika vidareutvecklade modellen 940 kommit ut på marknaden,

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
