"The perfect car."

Description

This Saab is number 562 out of a total of 2,081 produced and the 77th of the 242 allocated to Sweden. The Saab was first registered for road use on May 5, 2008. It has had only two owners up to now, and the current owner has had the car since July 12, 2019. During this time, he has driven it only about 9,000 kilometers. The car has always been stored indoors in a garage under a protective cover and has only been used during the summer months. For most of the time, it has been off the road. The Saab is newly inspected and freshly serviced and is in excellent condition. Instruction manuals and a fully stamped service book are included, as well as inspection reports. The car as a whole is in very good and carefully maintained condition; it even still has that new car smell.

The auxiliary equipment appears to function properly. Although not inspected on a lift, it looks good underneath as well. Some surface rust can be seen on certain parts underneath, such as the heat shield, but a new replacement is included, see the picture.

  • Interior condition:

The interior is in excellent original condition, with seats upholstered in leather. The door panels, carpets, and headliner are also in very fine condition. It still has that new car smell.

  • Exterior condition:

The exterior is in excellent and well-maintained condition. The paint, glass, plastic, rubber, and lighting components are all in great shape, as are the emblems and trim. The wheels and tires are also in excellent condition. The engine bay and trunk are equally well-preserved.

  • General condition:

This model of Saab was produced in a limited edition. This fact, combined with this vehicle’s look and excellent condition, makes it an enthusiast and collector’s item, as well as a Saab classic of significant historical interest.

Facts about the model

With the Saab 9-3, the company adopted the naming convention similar to the 9-5. The new 9-3 model was an evolution of the Saab 900, which was originally launched as the 1993 model year.

The first generation of the new 9-3, produced from 1998 to 2003, was primarily a facelift of the previous 900 model. However, more significant changes occurred with the second generation, introduced for the 2003 model year. The previous combi coupe was replaced with a sedan, or in Saab’s terms, a SportSedan. The following year, a new Cabriolet was introduced. These models were completely new and built on GM’s Epsilon platform, which was also shared with the Opel Vectra and Cadillac BLS. As usual, Saab models ranged from basic versions to high-performance Aero versions.

For the 2006 model year, a much-anticipated wagon was introduced, which Saab naturally called the SportCombi. That same year, a new 2.8-liter V6 engine was also introduced. When this engine was launched, it was named Engine of the Year. It was a GM project, where the engine initially appeared in Buick and Cadillac models, under the designation LP1. However, with the help of Swedish engineers, who had extensive experience in successful turbo development and production, the engine was further refined and received the designation LP9. It was manufactured by Holden in Australia, but the turbo unit came from Saab in Sweden. The engine was considered very potent and reliable, producing 250 hp at 5500 rpm. For the 2008-09 model years, the top versions of the 9-3 model with the LP9 engine received an additional 30 hp.
