Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Runs well in both the engine and drivetrain. Sounds exactly as a 1380 A-series engine should—lively and strong. Shifts smoothly and without issues. The brakes are in good condition.

  • Interior condition:

Clean, intact, and functional. Equipped for racing with a roll cage.

  • Exterior condition:

The body looks untouched by racing, straight and clean. The paint is in good condition, with some signs of aging.

  • General condition:

A MK1 Mini that looks exactly as it should for racing! With the care the owner has put into the car, you can be confident it’s in excellent overall condition, which I also experienced while photographing the car. Happy racing!

Facts about the model

Alec Issigonis, who designed the highly regarded Morris Minor, was tasked with developing a fuel-efficient small car in the wake of the Suez Crisis. Issigonis was a functionalist, believing that nothing unnecessary should be included in the new design. Maximizing interior space on the smallest possible footprint was a guiding principle. To achieve this, the engine was mounted transversely with the gearbox positioned underneath to save space. The rear hatch was designed to fold down, allowing it to be used as an additional loading area. With a bit of goodwill, four adults can travel in it in a somewhat comfortable manner
