Description

This vehicle was registered for road use in Sweden on October 26, 1964. According to reports, it was sold by Förenade Bil in Gothenburg. The current owner acquired the car on March 7, 1977, and has used it as an enthusiast vehicle ever since. It has always been garaged and never driven during the winter months. The car has been well cared for and regularly serviced, most recently at Pikab in recent years. It has been repainted a couple of times, the most recent being about ten years ago. Last year, the car also received a thorough inspection and engine overhaul with extensive work carried out. The car comes with original books and documents, as well as various receipts and inspection reports. The current owner has also kept a logbook, showing that the car has covered approximately 30,000 kilometers since its purchase in 1977. The car is inspected and ready to drive.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Starts easily and runs smoothly and quietly in both the engine and drivetrain. All other systems, such as steering, shifting, brakes, etc., appear to be functioning well. A test drive at a moderate pace was experienced as calm and dignified. The car has not been inspected on a lift, but everything visible looked good. It is also equipped with a typical accessory from the 50s/60s—a compressor air horn

  • Interior condition:

Cozy and exclusive feel with the original interior in beautifully patinated condition. The seats, both front and rear, are delightful. The door panels, headliner, and carpets are all in excellent condition. The steering wheel, controls, and instruments are in good working order. The odometer is slightly off linearly but fully functional. The wood trim has a beautiful patina. Equipped with a Blaupunkt Paris cassette radio from the 70s, though the original radio is still available and included.

  • Exterior condition:

The paintwork is glossy and in good condition, though there are some signs of repainting near one of the trim pieces. Chrome, glass, rubber, and lighting details are in fine condition, as are the wheels, hubcaps, and tires. The engine and trunk compartments are in good shape with normal wear consistent with the car’s age and mileage.

  • General condition:

The model, equipment, condition, history, and color combination—indeed, the entire car and its aura—make this a motor history bullseye. It doesn’t get much more stylish than this… A true classic and a delightful collector’s item.

Facts about the model

The Bentley S model was produced between 1955 and 1965 and largely shared its appearance with the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. The S1 models, from 1955 to 1959, were equipped with a straight six-cylinder engine of 4,887 cc. The S2 and S3 models featured a V8 engine of 6,230 cc. The S2 was produced from late 1959 to 1962, while the S3 was produced from late 1962 to 1965. The most visible change with the S3 was the introduction of twin headlights. Other changes included a slightly lower grille for a sleeker hood line, as well as minor alterations to the bumpers and bumper horns.

Inside the car, the S3 introduced separate front seats and moved the rear seat back for improved legroom. The engine received higher compression and larger carburetors, which enhanced both acceleration and top speed.

The S model was available as a four-door sedan, a two-door coupe, and a convertible. Additionally, there were coachbuilders who received chassis to create their own custom designs. From 1958, a four-speed automatic transmission was offered as an option.

The S model was eventually replaced by the T1 model, similar to the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow.
