Description

The first owner of this King Blue 144 was shoemaker Anton Petterson in Munkedal. He kept it for ten years before it was sold to a woman in the same area, who owned it for 30 years. The current owner, also from Munkedal, purchased it from her ten years ago. Used as a summer car for the past 30 years and stored during winters in a dry storage facility. Equipped with an original Volvo tow hitch.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Starts easily, runs smoothly, and the gearbox was overhauled a few years ago. The brakes work well, and everything is in order with the instruments and mechanics, except for a faulty fuel gauge. There is some noise at lower speeds (possibly a strut mount issue) and the clutch works excellently but makes a slightly audible noise when fully depressed. Some new parts come with the car, such as new dampers for the rear hatch. Original tools and spare wheel are in their designated places.

  • Interior condition:

Internally, the car is in very good and well-preserved condition. Carpets and upholstery are almost in top-notch condition. Door panels are also in good shape but might benefit from a cleaning to enhance their condition a bit further. There is a crack on the upper side panel (taped) and a defroster nozzle that has broken. The glove compartment is clean and neat.

  • Exterior condition:

"Kungsblå" (Royal blue) was a color that was available from 1970-72. This car has never been repainted. However, there have been several touch-ups and polishing done in some areas. There is a small dent on the left front fender. The car has been well-used at some point in its history, and that has left its marks accordingly. Some older repairs can be seen in the wheel arches and spare wheel wells. The tires are equipped with detachable white sidewalls.

  • General condition:

A healthy car that is in a condition considered normal to good for a car of this model. It is mostly unrestored, with touch-ups, maintenance, and repairs done when necessary. The interior has been kept in very good condition throughout its life.
