"Nice and well-kept car that has been frequently driven to weddings and local classic car shows. It starts the first time and runs and drives well in the engine and transmission."

Description

The owner's son acquired the car from his father three years ago, and it is now time to sell because they are selling the father's house. The car has spent its entire life in the Borås area and was delivered new in Svenljunga in 1937. According to this father, he was the third owner and the car had driven 105371 kilometres. During the mid 1970s, this father completed a full body restoration that involved replacing all of the wings and running boards, as well as some welding in the boot area, all done with true craftsmanship and knowledge. The car was registered in 1979, repainted in cellulosa paint in the early 1980s, and has only been driven sparingly during the summer months since then.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Easy to start nice and quiet sounding engine, good brakes and smooth gears. The engine bay is clean and dry with no leaks.

  • Interior condition:

The interior textile in the seats, door cards, and headliner appears to be original. Small damage on the front bench seat corners and some moisture stains in the door cards, seats, and headliner "see photographs" but still feels nice and clean and has that vintage feel.

  • Exterior condition:

The bodywork has been restored and the wings and running boards have been replaced to a high degree by the owner's experienced father throughout a 5-year renovation process, and everything is finished to a high standard. To give it that authentic feel, it was repainted in the early 1980s using cellos paint. There is no rust or damage, and the underbody is very clean, with great chrome and detailing. Some paintwork cracks have formed, however this does not detract from how the car appears.

  • General condition:

It's a perfect vintage Volvo in completely operational condition, ready for the next classic car exhibition. It runs and drives well, and looks and feels right in every aspect.

Facts about the model
