Description
The car was bought in 1973 by the current owner (a lady living in Tjörn). She drove the car for a few years and then put it away in the family's garage when it suffered damage to the front after a collision with a deer. In 2013, the car was taken out and left in a workshop which is a Volvo expert. They were tasked with repairing the body damage around the grill and painting the car back to its original colour. In 2014, the car was ready and driven to the test centre after more than 30 years of inactivity. After this, it has been used about 20 times on excursions, festive occasions and car meetings, etc.
The car's history before 1973 is interesting. The car has chassis number 38 and is a pre-series car in a series of 40 cars built in 1959 in England to test the model before it was launched in autumn 1961. This car was withdrawn in January 1960 and was owned by a Volvo employee until 1972, when a car dealer bought it. He had a typical modernization and a little styling done at the time. He fitted a more modern grill, newer seats, leather front and rear from the ES model and polished wide JP mag wheels with balloon tyres. The top of this was a lacquer in light mint green metallic. The model was in its final stages and this car was the first version. With these changes, it was hard to distinguish from the last version and also looked very delicious. The owner, who was young at the time, had one of the coolest cars in Orust and Tjörn at that time, she proudly told me. After the damage with the deer, an acquaintance had to fix it and unscrewed the radiator etc. and then it was garaged.
Unique opportunity for collectors to buy an unusually nice P1800, which has only driven 145,000km and has never been rusted. Most details except the seats and grill are original (even the hubcaps). Actually only used for 15 years, of its current 62-year life.

Mechanical condition
Starts easily and is nice to drive. Technically inspected with new brakes, exhaust system, tank, tyres, shock absorbers, cooler, trim etc. in 2014. Hardly used after this. Might need a service/technical check as it has been almost completely stationary for the past 4 years.

Interior condition
Full and nice interior in the original design, except seats which are of newer design, see pictures. Carpets and rubber seals were replaced in 2014.

Exterior condition
Straight and nice bodywork. Professionally painted both inside and outside. A few grains of dust can be found in the paint. A polish could remove this. There are some dents on the chrome and trim if you look closely.

General condition
One of the finer and more unusually complete early P1800s we have seen. Has never been rusty or seriously damaged. Very nice overall impression.

Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
