Description

Riley Elf and Wolseley Hornet were luxury models, with  wooden instrument panel and leather upholstery, the Elf was the most luxurious. This is one of only a few Riley Elfs that have recently been sold in Sweden. According to rumors, one Elf and two Hornets were sold as new here. There have been a few more over the years, but not many. Elf and Hornet are slightly extended at the back, as seen in the luggage compartment At the front, a bonnet with grill and front plate distinguishes thcsr from a mini.   The bumpers are also different and stronger. During the renovation, a new leather upholstery from Newton Commercial in the United Kingdom was purchased. The engine was restored by a skilled Mini enthusiast in Stockholm.

Riley Elf was released at the end of 1961. Fisher & Ludlow, the body company, built the bodies under the brand name Fisholow. The overall length increased by approximately 25m cm. Elf and Hornet production ceased at the end of 1969. By then, 30,912 Elfs and 28,455 Hornets had been manufactured. The early cars had an 848 cc engine that produced 34 BHP. A few years later, they received a 998 cc engine with 38 BHP. For a few years, the car could also be ordered with an automatic transmission.

Facts about the model
