Description

Saab's fastest car before the turbo; 99 EMS (Electronic-Manual-Special). Here in brilliantly fine form, only driven 29,570 km, guaranteed. A man in Trans purchased the car new and used it very little. From 1989 through 1994, the following owner kept the car as a fine car and drove it very little. Kisa Bilmuseum purchased the car in 1994. We'd like to state that the condition is excellent throughout. Unrenovated and nearly identical to new both inside and out. 1972-1978, the most costly and sportiest model. (As a reaction to this model, Volvo developed the 242 GT.) Take advantage of a more powerful engine, water-cooled electronic fuel injection, metallic paint, the toughest aluminium wheels, a sunroof, and a sports interior. Include a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a front spoiler. Finish with a top speed of slightly more than 170 km/h. That is the recipe for a razor-sharp Saab 99 that is a joy to drive. Today, it is far more scarce than the replacement Saab 99 Turbo.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition:

Engine: Straight four-cylinder engine with an overhead chain-driven camshaft and two valves per cylinder. Electronic-Manual-Special. Fuel injection. Water cooling. 1985 cm3 volume Maximum output of 118 horsepower DIN at 5,500 rpm. Maximum torque is 167 Nm @ 3,700 rpm.
Front-wheel drive with a longitudinally positioned engine. Manual transmission with four speeds. Lever on the floor.
Disc brakes all around. Football-aluminum wheels with Goodyear old tyres. The tyres are somewhat dry cracked.   As the car has been driven relatively little since 1994, yet started on a regular basis, a simpler service may be helpful. Now inspection/MOT approved.

  • Interior condition:

The unique interior, which was only available in the EMS and Turbo. Here in very excellent condition. It provides a sumptuous sensation when combined with a leather-covered steering wheel and a sunroof. The only criticism is that the headliner hangs (as is customary, but easy to repair) and the rubber mats to dried out. The trunk appears to be hardly unused.  Original Jack, triangle, and. tools.

  • Exterior condition:

Older professional repaint (may be original paint?) That is still wonderful. The car has been tectyl-treated, which, along with a cautious owner and infrequently used, has kept the body in excellent shape. The engine compartment is in similarly superb condition. The boot lid has a few minor rust spots on it "see pictures" . The fuel cap need a new spring, which is primarily a minor issue. Fine rubber mouldings and chrome trims. The sunroof operates softly and effectively.

  • General condition:

Unique opportunity to acquire one of Sweden's by far the finest Saab EMS.

Facts about the model

Saab 99 tillverkades mellan 1968 och 1984. Totalt under alla år tillverkades 588 643 stycken 99:or.
1972 års EMS såldes bara lackad i kopparmetallic.
