"An older repaint with a few blisters. It feels nice in the engine and transmission. Ready to drive and inspection/MOT free forever. The Swedish Transport Agency has a note about permitted changes to chassis numbers."

Description

Since the 1970s, it has been driven in the Arvika region. Good condition, with sunroof, servo, and original Ronal wheels with fresh tyres. Given the condition, we think the car has travelled about 123,000 kilometers (the metre has gone around once).
NOTE: The car was renovated/repaired in the 1980s, and the body, including the driveline, was then replaced with a modern model. The components are from the W114 series 2 - (facelift model as in the autumn of 1973). A registration inspection was performed in conjunction with this, and the car register notes that "the chassis number of the car has been affixed in connection with the inspection." As a result, the car got a new identity, which is accepted at a registration inspection. We were unable to determine the context or rationale for this, but it has been accepted and recorded in the Swedish Transport Agency's file. The car is so registered as a 250C from 1969, yet it is a 280C as they appeared in 1973 in terms of looks and powertrain.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

Runs well in engine and gearbox. The engine is the larger 280E model.

  • Interior condition

Complete and nice, steering wheel from a newer model, speakers that were most likely installed during the renovation / body replacement, otherwise well-kept interior.

  • Exterior condition

An older repaint that has performed nicely. The body is in good condition, with only a minor rust blister on the tailgate. View the images.

  • General condition

Good working condition, no show car, but clean and well-kept.

Facts about the model

Saxat ur tidningen klassiker:
