-
Mechanical condition
The Rover V8 engine starts quickly and runs without issue. The gearbox, which has high and low range, also works as it should. When driving, the car emits quite a bit of noise from the transmission and fan belt.
The upgraded brakes, sourced from Audi, work without issue.
The fuel tank has been replaced with a newer type.
The vehicle was inspected on 2026-07-29. Noted at that time were "Vehicle identification number difficult to read" and "License plate missing". -
Interior condition
The original seats have been replaced with more modern seats with headrests, providing better comfort and better protection for driver and passengers.
The car has instruments and warning lights that are largely of a more modern design than the original.
A hardtop in poor condition is included. -
Exterior condition
The car is in good condition and gives a solid impression. As the pictures show, this is a Willys Jeep where the owners over the years have prioritized function over polish.
According to the current owner, the body has never been rusty, and there are no obvious signs of major rust repairs.
There are differences in shade between the body panels, as well as scuffs, minor dents, and cracked paint.
The floor has been modified to accommodate the larger V8 engine and gearbox.
The car is equipped with a lift kit that provides better ground clearance and, perhaps above all, a tougher look. -
General condition
A raw and rugged Willys Jeep in a condition that allows it to be used even off-road.

Facts about the model
The vehicle was to be small, lightweight, rugged, and four-wheel drive. In other words, a vehicle with good off-road capability in difficult terrain while also being easy to manufacture in large quantities.
Three American companies came to play a decisive role in its development:
· American Bantam produced the first working prototype, the Bantam BRC.
· Willys-Overland then developed its own version, the Willys MA.
· Ford produced its prototype, the Ford GP.
The Army took the best solutions from the various designs, laying the foundation for the vehicle that would later become known as the Jeep.
American Bantam played an important role in the early development work, but it was Willys-Overland that eventually became the primary manufacturer.
In 1941, the US Army selected the Willys design as the standard. The vehicle was then given the designation Willys MB and soon became one of the most famous military vehicles of World War II.
After the war, Willys quickly realized that there was a civilian market for the vehicle. As early as 1945, the Willys CJ-2A was introduced, where CJ stood for Civilian Jeep.
The Willys CJ-3A arrived in 1949, replacing the CJ-2A. This was likely due to declining sales of the CJ-2A.
The CJ-3A was part of the Universal CJ series, the model line developed for agriculture and other civilian purposes.
The new CJ-3A model received a few small but well-considered changes focused on comfort and driving characteristics.
The manufacturer, Willys-Overland, understood the value of improved comfort, even in a working vehicle like the CJ. The changes in the CJ-3A were relatively minor but included, among other things, increased legroom, tighter sealing of the soft top fabric against the front of the doors, thicker seat cushions, and improved headroom. A one-piece windshield was also introduced.
