In the late 1990s, the owner inherited the car, and over the past years, they've undertaken extensive renovations and upgrades. Notably, a correct B4B engine has been fitted, although the original engine is also included, albeit in need of a rebuild. The recent work performed on the car includes:
Engine renovation with a new cam.
Installation of a new carburetor.
Replacement of 50% of the electrics.
Addition of a searchlight.
Brakes renovated.
Replacement of the headliner and door cards.
All wheel bearings replaced.
New hubcaps.
Rechroming of all chrome details.
The car starts and drives well, but due to limited use in the past year, it could benefit from a service and a minor carburetor tune-up. This vintage Volvo PV444 is not just a car; it's a cherished family heirloom with a rich history. Loads of older documentation included.

Mechanical condition
The car is in great shape, needing only regular service and a minor tune-up. Engine, gearbox, and brakes are all in good working order. It has good wheels and tires and is permanently exempt from inspection. The engine bay is clean with many new parts.

Interior condition
The entire interior maintains its original charm with all the authentic details and features intact. The original seats, while showing some signs of age-related wear, remain in good condition. There are new side panels, door cards, and a headliner. The rubber mats are in good shape. The dashboard, complete with functional instrumentation, has a minor crack, but a replacement panel is included.

Exterior condition
The bodywork is impressively straight and devoid of any rust problems. All the wings have been replaced at some point, and the underbody is exceptionally clean, featuring numerous recently installed components (please refer to the pictures for a visual). The paintwork is generally clean with only minor blemishes that could be easily polished if desired. The car boasts excellent detailing, and the chrome work all around is bright and well-maintained. The boot area is also clean and tidy.

Discovering a Volvo PV444 with only two owners and in this exceptional condition, coupled with its fascinating owner history, is a truly rare find.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
